Selena Gomez has announced that she will be releasing a new album with her fiancé, Benny Blanco, next month.
The 32-year-old pop star shared the exciting news with her 421 Instagram followers on Thursday night, posting a slideshow of intimate moments with her fiancé, 36, including cozy shots of them in bed and a sweet kiss on her cheek.
“I always trick you guys! My NEW album, I Said I Love You First, with my best friend @itsbennyblanco, is out on 3/21,” she captioned the post.
Gomez also mentioned, “Our first song, ‘Scared of Loving You,’ is available now on all streaming platforms. Merchandise and signed products for the album can be pre-ordered. We can’t wait to share this special project with you!”
Benny Blanco commented, “i love you baby,” under the post.
The couple previously collaborated on her single “Single Soon,” released in 2023, and on “I Can’t Get Enough” from her 2020 album Rare. They also worked together on “Same Old Love” and “Kill Em With Kindness” back in 2015.
The music video for “Scared of Loving You” features the couple sharing laughs and holding hands while lying side by side.
The emotional song opens with Gomez singing: “If I broke your heart, would you take me back? / If I broke my arm, would you sign my cast? / When I was young, I would love too fast / Hope I don’t repeat my past.” In the chorus, she expresses her fears of losing a partner or them finding someone new.
Following her announcement, Gomez shared a romantic video of the two at Disneyland, where they were seen kissing and enjoying their time together as “Scared of Loving You” played in the background. The post garnered over 1.4 million likes within two hours, along with sweet comments from Lily Collins, Gracie Abrams, and Julia Michaels.
Blanco also shared a video of them taken through a keyhole, captioning it: “i cant believe i get to spend the rest of my life with you.” In the clip, Gomez is seen affectionately caressing his face as they cuddle.
Gomez’s surprise announcement took many fans off guard, especially since she recently hinted that she felt “a little bit too old for the pop star life” and has been focusing more on acting.
In a December conversation with Saoirse Ronan for Variety’s Actors on Actors series, she reflected on her career, stating, “I definitely think my strong suit is probably acting. But one thing I’m proud of in music is being able to tell a story — my favorite songs are mostly ballads, and they’re very transparent and honest.” She added
