Kanye West’s Absence: The Real Reason Behind His Time Abroad While Kim Kardashian and Their Kids Face Wildfires
Last week, Kim Kardashian and her four children evacuated their Calabasas, California home as wildfires threatened their property. If she needed shelter, she could have sought refuge at West’s expansive new $35 million mansion in Beverly Hills, which features 11 bedrooms, 18 bathrooms, two swimming pools, and a spa. However, it’s unlikely he would have been there.
The 47-year-old rapper, producer, and entrepreneur has spent the past eight months largely away from the U.S. Despite Kardashian’s claims of his absenteeism as a father to their kids—North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5—West’s absence has raised eyebrows among fans and critics alike.
Sources have now revealed to the Daily Mail that West’s prolonged absence is not about shirking parental responsibilities, but rather due to the multiple lawsuits he faces in the U.S. According to insiders, “Kanye’s reasoning for not being [in America] has nothing to do with his children and has everything to do with the multiple lawsuits that he is facing in the states.”
West has been traveling extensively with his wife, Bianca Censori, visiting places like Tuscany, Paris, and controversially, Russia. Although he made a brief appearance at a family gathering in Los Angeles in August, he is now reportedly residing in Tokyo. Just last week, he celebrated Censori’s 30th birthday with her family at a rooftop restaurant in Dubai.
While the couple’s extravagant lifestyle, including a wild getaway in the Maldives, has become somewhat routine, the distance from his children has raised questions. Sources indicate that West’s fears are heightened due to ongoing legal troubles, particularly surrounding disgraced media mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who is currently in federal custody facing serious charges.
In June, West was named in a wrongful termination and sexual harassment lawsuit by his former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, who alleged that he subjected her to harassment during her employment. West has denied all allegations, but Pisciotta’s updated filing in October included additional claims of sexual assault from before her time working for him.
