Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce shared how his relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift has positively impacted his performance in his 12th NFL season.
Despite facing challenges in regaining his peak form, Kelce expressed that he’s happier than ever, even amid significant criticism about his romantic life, which some have labeled a distraction that could hurt his career.
In an interview with Stephen A. Smith on his podcast, the ten-time Pro Bowler revealed that he feels content.
“I’m enjoying all aspects of life,” Kelce said on ESPN’s ‘First Take.’ “Taylor and I are happy, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the comfort and support I receive both on and off the field.”
Kelce emphasized that their relationship is mutually supportive, and he makes a point to ensure Swift feels his presence in her life.
“The beauty of a strong relationship is the support it provides, allowing you to focus on your craft and be the best version of yourself,” he explained. “That’s why I attended her concert—to support her and ensure she feels valued in everything she does.”
He added, “I’m as focused as I’ve ever been on my job, striving to be the best player I can be week after week for this team. I don’t have to worry about off-field distractions.”
This season started slowly for Kelce, resulting in one of the lowest production years of his career, with only 823 receiving yards and three touchdowns—the fewest since his rookie season. This rocky start prompted many analysts to speculate that the 35-year-old might consider retirement after this season, with some attributing his struggles to a busy offseason lifestyle.
However, Kelce has a proven track record in the playoffs and has the opportunity to shift early-season narratives when the Chiefs face the Houston Texans on Saturday.
