Hailey Bieber recently showed her support for her husband Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, following Gomez’s film “Emilia Perez” winning four Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture.
The 28-year-old model liked an Instagram post by Anthony Vaccarello of Saint Laurent, who celebrated the film’s success. He expressed his pride in producing what he called “the best film of the year” and congratulated everyone involved in the project.
“Emilia Perez” was the standout at the Golden Globes, taking home four awards after leading in nominations ahead of the 82nd ceremony. The Spanish-language French musical secured wins for Best Film, Best Supporting Actress (Zoe Saldaña), Original Song, and Best Film Not in the English Language.
This isn’t the first time Hailey has publicly supported Selena; last month, she liked a post from Gomez about her engagement to Benny Blanco.
The genre-defying crime musical tells the story of a tough tattooed Mexican cartel boss who undergoes gender confirmation surgery, marking a surprising success for Netflix, which has been streaming the film since November.
The film has been receiving accolades since its debut at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Jury Prize and the inaugural Best Actress Award for its ensemble cast. With a strong presence in the Academy Awards race, it recently topped the Oscars shortlists, securing six nominations across categories like International Feature and Original Song.
In addition to her recent support, Hailey also liked a post showcasing a close-up of Selena’s engagement ring and a sweet moment between Gomez and Benny, where she appeared to be laughing.
Selena and Justin had an on-and-off relationship from 2010 to 2018, and rumors of a feud between Hailey and Selena have circulated for years, particularly since Hailey married Justin just six months after his final split with Gomez.
