Engagement Season in HollywoodIt’s that time of year again: engagement season in Hollywood!
From pop sensation Dua Lipa, 29, to megastar Selena Gomez, 32, and actress Zendaya, 28, some of America’s most eligible bachelorettes are tying the knot—and they have the dazzling rings to prove it.
Fans were taken aback when Lipa revealed her engagement to actor Callum Turner, 34, late last year, showcasing a stunning Etoile Solitaire Diamond Engagement ring from Tiffany & Co. While this particular ring is no longer available, it once retailed for about $5,000.
As the saying goes, you can’t put a price on love, but some of Lipa’s contemporaries seem to be trying. Let’s take a look at how the rings of today’s glamorous women compare to the celebrity royalty of yesteryear.
Zendaya
Zendaya recently debuted her new cushion-cut 5-carat diamond ring, set on a band of 18k white and yellow gold, at the Golden Globes. Crafted by the renowned New Zealand-born jeweler Jessica McCormack, this exquisite piece is estimated to be worth over $200,000. Although Zendaya has yet to publicly comment on her engagement to longtime partner Tom Holland, sources say he proposed recently.
Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez shared her engagement news with her 423 million Instagram followers nearly four weeks ago, showcasing a breathtaking marquise-cut 5-carat diamond ring. The “Only Murders in the Building” star had been dating producer Benny Blanco, 36, for over a year before he popped the question. Her stunning ring, set on a gold band adorned with small round brilliant diamonds, is believed to be valued around $1 million. Gomez should certainly keep an eye out for any potential burglars!
Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez might be luckier in engagement rings than in love itself. She has received six diamond engagement rings to date, totaling an impressive $17 million. The generous givers include Ojani Noa, Chris Judd, Ben Affleck (twice), Marc Anthony, and Alex Rodriguez. Her favorite is rumored to be an 8.5-carat princess-cut blue diamond, gifted by Marc Anthony in 2004. Created by Harry Winston, this ring was valued at $4 million over 20 years ago, and today, it’s likely worth $6 million or more.
Grant Mobley of the Natural Diamond Council noted, “For every natural blue diamond that comes to market, there are 100 Picasso paintings.”
Beyoncé
Beyoncé certainly knows how to flaunt a ring, often opting for emerald-cut white diamonds. Recently, she’s been seen with an even larger ring on her finger. Is it a new piece, or a re-set of her original? Spotted first in September, this latest version features an emerald-cut diamond, similar to her 2007 ring, flanked by two trapezoid-cut diamonds. Given Jay-Z’s estimated net worth of $2.5 billion, it wouldn’t be surprising if this was a completely new ring.
