Sources reveal that Justin Bieber hopes for his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez’s happiness following news of her engagement to Benny Blanco, though he felt a brief sting upon hearing the announcement.

The former couple dated on and off from 2010 to 2018 before Justin, now 30, moved on with his wife, Hailey Baldwin. Last week, Selena, 32, shared images of her stunning marquise-cut diamond ring after Benny, 36, proposed.

Insiders told DailyMail.com that despite Justin’s focus on his life with Hailey and their baby son, Jack, the engagement signifies the “end of an era.”

“Justin is married and has a child, but when he heard about Selena’s engagement, it stung for a moment,” a source explained. “Even though they won’t be friends or date again, it marks a definitive closure.”

The duo’s romance began when Justin serenaded Selena with “One Less Lonely Girl” during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in 2009. They initially denied dating rumors in 2010, with Selena calling Justin her “little brother.”

Later that year, they made their relationship public, dating on and off until a breakup in April 2014, spurred by texts from Kylie Jenner found on Justin’s phone. They briefly reunited, but their relationship ended again in October.

In October 2017, they were spotted together again, but by March 2018, they officially split for good.
