Taylor Swift hit by major stage malfunction during iconic song on third night in New Orleans | Daily Mail Online

During her third and last night of performances in the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday, Taylor Swift encountered a significant stage failure.

After she sang the opening verse of Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me during the Tortured Poets Department section, the 34-year-old pop star’s mirrored silver platform, which her fans lovingly referred to as the “Tayoomba,” abruptly stopped functioning.

While her backup dancers eventually pushed the shattered prop off the stage of the 83K-seat stadium, Taylor chose to sing on the ground before dancing down the catwalk.

Additionally, it was Swift’s first time performing her song “Down Bad” without the “Tayoomba.”

‘She played it off so nicely I’m amazed this is the first time this has happened LOL!’ tweeted X user @penthouseheart.

“It’s amazing how experienced Taylor Swift is,” X user @moonlithoax exclaimed.

She got off the platform and continued to work on the stage even after it broke! I didn’t miss a beat—this is incredible!

“I believe that her walking instead of being levitated makes it even more raw and dramatic,” said Instagram user @giselle_barajas1234. But it’s strong in any case.

Instagram user @palakb0905 commented, “I wouldn’t mind if it breaks again, the way she killed that.”

“Her improvisation was incredible, and the performance was almost better this way,” said Instagram user @rainbowsoph99.

“Could we observe how one of the dancers made sure the others didn’t fall?” Noted by @micaela.jonas on Instagram.

“Last-minute problems are resolved like pros!” Tay and all of you!

The 14-time Grammy winner’s last song of the evening was “Karma,” and she shouted out to her boyfriend of 15 months, Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, after his team defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 27–20 on Sunday in Nevada.

“Karma is the Chiefs player who is really getting to me!” Taylor performed.

This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Swift will visit Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis as part of her 149-date, $1.93 billion tour, The Eras Tour.

It also marked the first time Swift had to perform her track Down Bad without the 'Tayoomba' (pictured October 18)

The Pennsylvania-born musician, who has 91.6 million Spotify subscribers each month, will wrap up The Eras Tour in Vancouver on December 8.

After her dishonest former manager Scooter Braun, who is now retired from the music business, took away the rights to the first six of Taylor Swift’s master recordings, she only has two more archival albums (Taylor Swift and Reputation) to re-record.
