The 32-year-old A-lister – who is worth $1.3billion – was seen leaving luxury eatery Nobu Fifty Seven in New York City on Tuesday night as she handed an unhoused man a $20 bill.

After taking photos and signing autographs for fans she handed the cash to the panhandler and told him to: ‘have a good meal.’

Many reacted to her gesture on social media negatively considering hew newly-minted billionaire status.

 One commenter wrote: ‘Should have given him at least a $50. $20 bucks is nothing nowadays in New York. CAnt even buy a pack of smokes and a tall boy beer for that anymore.’

However there were several fans who came to the star’s defense and praised her generosity.

One wrote:  ‘For those who didn’t read, she asked her bodyguard for $20. She didn’t have cash on her or she probably would’ve given more..

A social media user added: ‘Before y’all comment, how much did you give the homeless guy??’
