It does confer some advantages to have grown up in a family with some level of success in the fashion industry.
Ultimately, though, it is only a temporary feeling that anyone can tell if you have “it” or not.
Gray was up in Riverdale, a neighborhood in the Bronx, alongside her brother, artist Mary Frey, and her father, who gained notoriety in the 1990s for photographing Kate Moss’s classic Calvin Klein Obsession advertisements.
She socialized with other famous children, such as Maya Hawke, while attending an affluent private school on the Upper West Side.
She told Document Journal about her childhood memories of spending a lot of time on sets with her father, saying, ‘I played, I bugged the stylists, I talked to the models, I hung out with the hairdressers and makeup artist.
“I saw the entire exquisite process he went through to create an image, including researching, studying light, establishing a connection with his subjects, editing, printing, and his painstaking layouts.”
When she was thirteen years old, she began taking her own pictures and would frequently document different occasions and people in New York City.

Gray was already a huge success when she graduated from high school, having worked on campaigns for Dazed and Loewe.
“I graduated from high school during the height of the Saint Laurent campaigns,” she recalled telling Business of Fashion.
“I flew to LA for the women’s competition, returned to New York for my graduation, and flew again to LA for the men’s.”

It’s something we enjoy doing together and is highly reciprocal. We all depend on one another to maintain our composure, integrity, honesty, and respect.
“Creativity requires a certain amount of ego, but it can be very self-destructive, so you don’t want that to take over your life.”She told Document Journal that she has her father’s number on “speed dial” and frequently seeks his counsel.
