Can you attend a wedding wearing cream? Taylor Swift is confident of it!
Travis Kelce, the singer, and model Karen Elson, who wore a custom Valentino by Alessandro Michele, flew from Kansas City to New York to attend Elson’s wedding to Lee Foster, the owner of Electric Lady Studios. Swift chose a Zimmermann gown for the celebrity-studded event, one that most people would probably be hesitant to wear to someone else’s wedding.
The cream-colored linen dress has a lace-up corset back, scalloped neck, and cutout elements at the hemline. The skirt, however, is printed with big multicolored flowers, so the garment wasn’t entirely devoid of color. Swift added another splash of color—a “something blue,” if you will—with a sky-colored circular Vivienne Westwood pouch purse that had the iconic orb insignia of the late designer. She also donned a pair of “leche”-colored Christian Louboutin heeled sandals.
Most individuals would want to avoid wearing anything even slightly similar to white when it comes to wedding guest attire. Even a soft blue or yellow can send wedding etiquette ethicists and the internet into a frenzy. Some brides, however, dress all in white (or white-adjacent) for their guests. After all, who can forget Solange’s 2014 all-white wedding?
