The 29-year-old singer and actress has been in the spotlight since she was 10 years old, and she acknowledged that growing up in the spotlight put a lot of “pressure” on her. However, she now says that pressure has lessened since she has chosen not to try to meet “unrealistic standards of beauty.”

Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend also mentioned how hard it is for her to feel good about herself. 

“I continue to work on developing my self-confidence, but my perspective completely changed when I gave up trying to meet society’s unattainable beauty standards,” the actress from Monte Carlo said.

The creator of Rare Beauty has finally come to the conclusion that her uniqueness is what makes her attractive.

‘From the moment I can remember, I’ve always felt like I had to be flawless or look a specific way,’ she said to Glamour UK. It took me a long time to come to the realisation that all I wanted was to be myself and that my uniqueness was also my beauty.

The star of Only Murders in the Building has discovered that both counselling and posting ‘positive affirmations’ all over her home have helped her feel more confident.

“I’m a big advocate for therapy,” she declared. I also enjoy posting positive affirmations on sticky notes and placing them all over my home. 

I have several different ones, but my favourite is “I am enough”; I refer to them as “Rare Reminders.” It also helps to take a break from social media scrolling!
