However, Selena Gomez was only a young child singing along to her favourite Britney Spears songs years before she shot to prominence.
The 28-year-old actress shared a video of herself singing the song “Don’t Go Knockin’ At My Door” when she was younger on Tuesday.
Selena, dressed in stark blue, looked incredibly stylish as she performed the song with attitude in front of a film that looked like a screensaver and featured pictures of light beams, tornadoes, and galaxies.
After the song concluded, Selena boldly took off her sunglasses and gave the camera a menacing look.
Selena wrote, “The hustle was real,” as the video’s caption.
Years later, Selena is performing her own songs instead of covering others’ songs.
Three studio albums, including the number-one album Rare in 2015, have been released by Selena. Her debut extended play in Spanish, Revelacion, with the smash song De Una Vez, was just released.
She told Zane Lowe on Apple Music, “I’m so, so proud of my heritage, and I just genuinely felt like I wanted this to happen. This has been something I’ve wanted to do for ten years, working on a Spanish project.”
