Selena Gomez Playfully Teases Steve Martin and Martin Short While Promoting Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building

During the Tuesday, October 28, broadcast of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC, Selena Gomez made light of her collaboration with veteran comics Steve Martin and Martin Short.

Selena Gomez joked about working with older comedians Steve Martin and Martin Short on Tuesday's episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC

Selena remarked, “It’s so much fun working with these guys.” “I enjoy it when the director gives Steve and Marty instructions because it forces me to say it to them 20 percent louder.”

Alongside her Only Murders in the Building co-stars Martin Short, 74, and Steve Martin, 79, the 32-year-old actress and singer made an appearance on the program. While promoting season four of their Hulu series, the trio appeared on the talk show, and Selena’s co-stars made jokes about their advanced age.

Steve remarked, “Selena has taught me a lot about technology.” For instance, I didn’t know until I met Selena that taking a selfie was something you did alone.

'I have learned a lot about tech from Selena,' Steve Martin said. 'For example, before I met Selena I didn't realize, I thought a selfie was something you did in private'

“We are here because we love you,” Jimmy, the host, said to Martin. “Colbert has become a little pickier, which is another reason we are here.”

“This show is outstanding.” Jimmy, 49, was addressed by Martin as “you have broken the glass ceiling for white middle-aged guys in show business.”

Jimmy remarked, “I’m touched.”

'I have so much fun working with these guys,' Selena said. 'I love when the director tells Steve and Marty what to do because then I have to repeat it to them about 20 percent louder'

Martin acknowledged that his appearance was damaged by ageing.

Martin declared, “I have a Go Fund Me page just for my neck.”

Jimmy complimented Selena on her appearance.

Selena said, “It kind of helps sitting next to these guys.”

Jimmy also sent them congrats on the show’s 21 Emmy nominations.

“It’s my first one!” stated Selena.

Steve added with pride, “Her film Emilia Perez received an 11-minute standing ovation at Cannes.”

'We are just so excited to be back,' Selena said. 'We have a great show and a great storyline. And all of our friends are doing it with us. It's going to be a big one'

Jimmy brought up the fact that Steve’s documentary was nominated for five Emmys. Jimmy instructed them to rehearse their “losing faces” in case they were defeated. Everybody basically feigned happiness for someone else, with the exception of Martin, who played an amusingly irate role.

Jimmy questioned what they could share regarding Only Murders in the Building’s fourth season.

“We can’t wait to be back,” Selena exclaimed. “The plot and the show are excellent.” And we’re doing it with all of our buddies. It will definitely be significant.

After then, Jimmy presented a video of the three of them on the program.
