Due to their hectic schedules and the COVID-19 pandemic that lasted for an entire year, Selena Gomez and her best friend Taylor Swift have had difficulty getting together.
Swift, 31, and the 28-year-old Revelacion singer posted some old photos on Monday, with the singer writing, “kinda missin this one.”
After becoming close when they all dated the Jonas brothers in 2008, the singing friends have been friends for over 13 years.
The candid photos taken at home provided a simple window into their lasting friendship despite their enormous popularity.
On a girl’s night out, the ladies cuddled up to Swift’s cat Benjamin while wearing oversized T-shirts and sweatpants. Fans quickly praised ‘Taylena’, with some pleading with them to collaborate on music.
When Gomez first shared one of the photos in 2019, she was giddy about the Evermore singer being by her side for so long.
“My ride or perish.” This one would make me die. I appreciate you being by my side forever. I’m on your side for life. You’ve taught me so much, stuck by me through everything, and encouraged me to be a better person.
In numerous interviews, they have made public comments about one another. In a 2017 radio interview, Gomez said that her friendship with Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas was the “best thing” that had emerged from their 2008 romances.
In 2014, Taylor talked about their connection with E! and mentioned how important it is to have a sincere friendship in the public eye. She called their friendship the “longest one I think either of us had really.”
We’ve both kind of persevered and held on through all the various shifts we’ve experienced. She said, “You really can find something very precious and rare in friendships: longevity.”
Gomez openly addressed the Rose Bowl crowd during her unexpected 2018 debut on Swift’s Reputation Tour, expressing how Taylor has supported her through it all.
