The celebrity was testifying in a civil court on numerous claims brought against him and other parties for the fatalities and injuries that occurred at the 2021 Astroworld festival.

A deposition lasting approximately eight hours took place in Houston with Kylie Jenner’s ex-boyfriend being questioned, according to two people with knowledge of the lawsuit.

A gag order prevents attorneys and other parties involved in the civil actions from discussing anything other than what occurs in court.

“Travis Scott’s deposition is a standard court proceeding.” A representative for Scott, Ted Anastasiou, stated in a statement that “what is not typical is how the media continues to focus on him despite being cleared of any wrongdoing by extensive government investigations, including by the Houston Police Department.”

“Travis is committed to his tour in support of his record-breaking album, Utopia, and his charitable endeavours to support at-risk communities. He is fully cooperating with the legal process.”

Scott was not charged after a grand jury in June failed to indict him and five other individuals on any felony counts connected to the tragic event, despite Houston Police’s investigation.

Troy Finner, the chief of police, refused to disclose the overall findings of his department’s investigation.

The police department released its almost 1,300-page investigative report in July, in which staff from the festival outlined issues and issued warnings about potentially fatal outcomes.

A police interview conducted two days after the concert was summarised in the investigative report. Scott told investigators that while he did witness one person near the stage receiving medical attention, the audience appeared to be enjoying the show overall, and he did not observe any indications of serious issues.

For the first time since a crowd surge at his November 5, 2021, concert in Houston killed ten festivalgoers, Scott was questioned by lawyers for individuals who have filed claims.

The victims, who were between the ages of 9 and 27, perished from compressive asphyxia, which a medical professional compared to being run over by a car.
