Taylor Swift Reveals Heartwarming Family Ties to Singapore: Mom Andrea’s Childhood Roots

After playing “Marjorie,” Swift informed the crowd at Singapore’s National Stadium, “I’ve been hearing about Singapore my whole life.”Taylor Swift disclosed during her performance at Singapore National Stadium on Saturday (March 2) that she had some family ties to the country.

Swift said to the crowd while seated at her Evermore piano, “My mum actually spent a lot of her childhood with her mum and dad and her sister growing up in Singapore.”

At the stadium for the first of six Eras Tour stops, Swift had just finished performing “Marjorie,” an emotional song she wrote about her grandmother, Marjorie Finlay. She was taking a moment to speak to her fans.

She continued, “My mum used to take me and drive me past her old house and where she used to go to school a lot of the times when we would come here on tour.”  “My entire life, I’ve heard about Singapore.”It means the world to Swift to be able to perform at a large-scale event with so many lovely, giving individuals who were effectively paying tribute to her family by using her song “Marjorie.”

In a 2016 interview, the musician talked about her mother’s connection to the city-state with The Straits Times, a Singaporean newspaper. Swift revealed to a reporter that her mother “grew up in Singapore” since her grandfather, who was employed by an engineering firm, had to travel there for work. Her parents were on a trip due to my grandfather’s employment.

On Sunday, Swift revealed the fourth and final iteration of her album, The Tortured Poets Department, along with an additional tune called “The Black Dog.” “The Manuscript,” “The Bolter,” and “The Albatross” are the three extra songs included in the other three Tortured Poets renditions.
