But it appears even Rihanna’s fame has its limits as a young boy failed to recognise her when she met Man City ace Jack Grealish in New York on Tuesday.

The billionaire singer, 36, was in the Big Apple to watch Man City’s preseason loss to A C Milan and posed with Jack and A C Milan’s Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah.

But one fan who was also in the room then approached Rihanna and, seemingly not recognising her, asked her to take a photo of him with the footballers. 

Rihanna happily obliged and sat down on a nearby chair in order to take the perfect snap of the boy with his idols.

However, another fan in the club went up to Rihanna and requested her to take a picture of him with the football players, as if he didn’t recognise her.Many X/Twitter users joked on social media about the boy’s apparent lack of recognition of Rihanna after seeing a videotape of the endearing event.

Many speculated that it was because the singer hasn’t put out an album since 2016 and has instead been concentrating on her commercial endeavours in recent years.

‘The younger generation doesn’t recognise Rihanna anymore, and it’s all her fault,’ many commented.

“That woman hasn’t released an album in nearly a decade.” These children appear 8–9. They have no knowledge of that.

“She ought to release new music tomorrow and take back her throne,” someone said. “She needs to drop that album.” “What a gracious queen Rihanna is.”

“I assure you that she is not disturbed.” Based on what little I know of her, I’m sure she was thrilled to have the chance to shoot some pictures for these youngsters.

Jack would have like to meet Rihanna, but he already admitted in 2019 that she was his celebrity crush.

Many hypothesised that it was because the singer has been focussing on her commercial activities in recent years, rather than releasing an album since 2016. Following his Instagram photo with Rihanna, the football player wrote, “A few days in the Big Apple.. Now to Orlando.” It’s anticipated that Sasha Attwood, Jack’s girlfriend, is five months pregnant with their first child together. Jack has known Sasha since they were sixteen years old. The athlete shared a picture of himself holding Sasha’s growing baby bulge on social media to share the news. “Life’s biggest blessing,” was how the winger captioned the picture. Sasha said, “Half of me, half of you – beyond blessed.” Ollie Watkins, Harry Kane, and Harry Maguire—three of Jack’s former and current teammates—were quick to congratulate the happy couple.
