Video fans shouted ‘You still got Taylor’ when Travis hit a bad golf shot at the ACC tournament

At the 2024 American Century Championship, Travis Kelce was reminded by a fan that he is still Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, even if he makes a terrible swing.

Following a poor shot, the NFL player—who is taking part in the celebrity charity tournament at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Nevada from Friday, July 12, through Sunday, July 14—was given some consoling remarks.

The 34-year-old player can be seen swinging a golf club at the ball in a video that was uploaded on X (previously Twitter), but he stops short and exclaims, “Oh no!”

A fan then exclaimed, “You still have Taylor, so it’s okay!” “You ain’t lying there,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end retorted, pointing to the spectators.

His statement was met with laughter from the audience as he gave his golf club to a caddie. Before moving on to his next hole on the course, Kelce gave a wave to the spectators.

The 34-year-old 14-time Grammy winner wasn’t far from the forefront of attention during the first and second rounds, as multiple of her songs were playing.

As shown in a viral video from NBC Sports Bay Area & CA, Kelce once bopped his head and sang along to a remix of Swift’s song “Lavender Haze” from her 2022 Midnights album.

Other songs that played as the football player was ready to swing his golf club were “Love Story” from her 2008 Fearless album and “Fortnight” from her 2024 album, The Torture Poet’s Department.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - FEBRUARY 11: Travis Kelce #87 of the Kansas City Chiefs and Taylor Swift react as they see Mecole Hardman Jr. #12 of the Kansas City Chiefs following the NFL Super Bowl 58 football game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs at Allegiant Stadium on February 11, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Swift made sure to express her support for him this week by like two Instagram photos that praised her beau being chosen the best tight end in the NFL. Swift was not present because she is currently on her worldwide Eras Tour.

The top 10 players in each of the 11 NFL positions were listed in the rankings, which were published on ESPN NFL’s Instagram. The rankings were created using surveys that were distributed to league executives, coaches, and scouts. Swift enjoyed the comments made by the Kansas City Chiefs on Instagram regarding the accomplishment.

While their father Ed Kelce and brother Jason Kelce’s wife Kylie Kelce support them from the sidelines, Kelce is competing in the ACC tournament with his brother.

Together with celebrities like Don Cheadle, Michael Peña, Rob McElhenney, and Miles Teller, a number of other sports stars participated in the competition, including Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen, Derek Carr, Baker Mayfield, Trevor Lawrence, Joe Flacco, and Kyle Juszczyk.

On Sunday, July 14, the American Century Championship will come to an end.
