When Taylor Swift announced that she and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, would be sharing the stage at her concert, her fans were ecstatic. However, Kelce claims that Swifties are to blame for the concept.
In the most recent episode of his podcast “New Heights,” which he cohosts with his brother Jason Kelce, the football player waxed poetic about his debut on the Eras Tour stage on June 23.
“I told Tay about it at first. “I thought it would be hilarious to just roll out on one of the bikes during that period, that “1989” album,” he said. (Travis is well-known for loving “Blank Space,” one of Swift’s five studio album’s hit singles.)
“She burst out laughing. “Would you seriously be up for doing something like that?” she said. Travis went on. “I thought to myself, ‘What? To do that would be wonderful. Are you joking with me? I should work here since I’ve seen the programme enough.”
However, Swift figured out another method to include him. Travis collaborated with two backup dancers, Kameron Saunders and Jan Ravnik, for a sketch that was performed during “The Tortured Poets Department” portion at the conclusion of her three sold-out gigs in London.
For a dramatic costume change, Travis had to carry Swift’s lifeless body across the stage.
“There was no bike in case I ran into somebody else or hit one of the dancers or anything,” Travis stated. “It was the safest option.”
Actually, Travis stated that Swift’s safety was his top priority while performing.
“I just told myself to keep the baby in place. “Don’t leave Taylor behind as you head to this fucking couch,” he said. “Get her to the couch safely.”
Travis even remembered coaching tips from his former teammate, Eric Bieniemy, who helped the Chiefs win two Super Bowls.
“Coach Bieniemy always used to say, ‘That ball has our dreams, goals, and aspirations,'” Travis recalled. “You do not drop that ball.”
He went on, “It’s such a lighthearted, enjoyable portion of the show.” “It was the ideal setting or moment for me to get up there, act like a ham, have some fun, interact with the audience as well as her, Kam, and Jan, and truly try to get everyone pumped for the remainder of the show. It was fantastic. I had a fantastic time.”Swift’s brother, Khalen Saunders, is a great NFL player and Travis’s former teammate. Travis also called Saunders a “true showman” and said it was “an honour” to be onstage with Swift and her dancers.
Travis remarked, “I was up there with three professionals.” “When Taylor is performing, you can’t go wrong. The best person to accomplish it is her.”Jason made fun of his brother, claiming he could have spoiled the event, but Travis expressed satisfaction with his performance and, more significantly, so did his girlfriend.”I didn’t disappoint Taylor, so that’s all that really matters,” he stated. “Don’t screw this up was my main objective. Don’t mess this up, don’t dump Taylor.”Last year, Travis courted Swift by shouting her out on “New Heights,” a gesture that Swift subsequently referred to as “metal as hell.”Soon after, the two started dating and things rapidly became serious, with Swift showing her love for the Chiefs by attending multiple NFL games.”When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Swift stated to Time.
