Travis Kelce seemingly dragged two of his girlfriend’s high-profile exes in an awkward podcast discussion about Taylor Swift.

During his appearance on the Bussin’ With the Boys podcast on Tuesday, the Chiefs tight end spoke up about his friendship with the pop sensation.

In one section, he talked about his favourite Swift songs with co-hosts Taylor Lewan and Will Compton. Lewan considered the number-one song, Karma, to be among her greatest.

“I understand that Karma is about Gyllenhaal.” Swift briefly dated Jake Gyllenhaal about fifteen years ago, and Compton inquired awkwardly. Was Jake there? Do I have this wrong?

Kelce asked, “What happened?” sidestepping the topic.

The Kansas City star was perceived by some as subtly disparaging Taylor Swift’s former boyfriend Joe Alwyn.

The 14-time Grammy winner then revealed to his co-host that she changed the lyrics to read, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me,” when she started dating the Kansas City star.

Compton enquired as to whether the line “a guy on the screen” in the 2022 song’s lyrics initially alluded to her ex-boyfriend, actor Joe Alwyn.

“It was,” Kelce answered, emphasising the word “was.”

The sportsman received a lot of appreciation on social media for his handling of the odd line of questioning.

One admirer commented on X, “He handled it like a champ, even though for a second I wanted to crawl in a hole.”

Over the past year, Kelce and Swift’s relationship has only gotten better.

It happened nearly half a year after her breakup with Alwyn, the man she dated for over six years.

Regarding Gyllenhaal, Swift’s famous song, All Too Well, was inspired by their brief romantic relationship in late 2010.

In an interview with Esquire, Gyllenhaal ridiculed “unruly” followers after the pop star released a 10-minute version of the song in 2021.

The “Brokeback Mountain” star hinted that Swift has a “duty” to maintain her fans’ “civility and refrain from enabling cyberbullying.”
