On Good Morning Britain, Cody Rhodes expressed his confidence that he will face WWE veteran The Rock in a one-on-one bout at some point in the future.
Prior to WrestleMania 40, the two developed a feud when The Rock pintared Cody Rhodes in a tag match alongside Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins on the opening night.

However, Rhodes ended Reigns’ 1,316-day reign as the WWE champion and left the show on night two. 

 The Rock stated, “The Rock has gotta go away for a little while now,” in a promo the night after Rhodes won the title. The Rock is also adamant about staying put. Regardless of your status as a champion, the Rock will return to claim you when he does.

In a Friday interview with GMB, Rhodes revealed what he thinks their future encounter will entail and what it will take to get The Rock back into action.

WWE champion Cody Rhodes is optimistic that he will go up against The Rock in a single match at some point.

Prior to WrestleMania 40, the two had a rivalry. On the opening night of the event, The Rock pintailed Rhodes in a tag match that also featured Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.

A day later, Rhodes would become the WWE title by defeating The Rock’s cousin, Reigns.

Rhodes responded, “I want to say yes,” when asked if there will be a match between herself and the Hollywood star. What matters, in my opinion, will be whether I can be a good champion or a great champion.

Will Roman Reigns’ greatness as a champion be enough to lure The Rock, given the circumstances of this match?

Rock will tell you that he brought back the allure of wrestling. Rock may have been the one who initially popularised wrestling, but this generation and the locker room are completely different.

“All of these people: Rhea Ripley, Becky Lynch, myself, and Seth Rollins.” The longer we maintain this, the more opportunities we have and the more it draws The Rock back into the fight.

Rhodes has been active on the WWE’s current tour of the United Kingdom.

 

After defeating Shinsuke Nakamura in Birmingham on Wednesday, Rhodes reiterated John Cena’s earlier demands that Wrestlemania be held in the UK at some point in the future.

“We’re sold out tonight [in Birmingham], Cardiff, Belfast, and London,” he declared.

“I’m going to parrot John Cena and say that the United Kingdom deserves a WrestleMania if anybody deserves anything.”

While Rhodes and the WWE are presently touring the UK, he declared that WrestleMania ought to go there in the future at a concert in Birmingham.

At WrestleMania 40, Rhodes is shown giving the venerable WWE star “The Rock Bottom” through a table.

In June, the WWE will host Clash at the Castle in Scotland, continuing the popularity of the high-end live event that took place in Cardiff two years prior.

Before then, Rhodes will be facing the winner out of a match involving AJ Styles and LA Knight at Backlash which takes place in France next month.
