A making-of documentary that is far more entertaining than the movie Black Adam is made of, thanks to an embarrassing wardrobe test and severe budget cuts.

Black Adam is still the most eagerly awaited DC Extended Universe movie in years, despite the conflicting reviews from critics over its theatrical release. It’s still unclear what the general audience thinks of the picture, but years of poor planning and rushed editing are surely to blame for the film’s mixed reviews.

The new superhero movie has had a more distinguished development history than almost any other comic book picture and has overcome numerous hurdles since its initial announcement. With Dwayne Johnson contributing for almost 15 years, forced PG-13 cuts, and embarrassing outfit testing, a making-of documentary would be more entertaining than the movie.

Johnson Went Around DC Head To Get Superman

Even if it’s a post-credits scene, Henry Cavill playing Superman again in the next movie is not fresh information—in fact, Johnson has said as much. It’s thrilling since Cavill’s reappearance almost didn’t happen, even though it seems like a desperate attempt to divert attention from the movie following negative reviews.

Johnson took his Superman proposal directly to Warner Bros. executives, who approved it after DC head Walter Hamada rejected it. The original plan for Superman was not to become a feature film. In this case, it was a great fit, like a youngster asking their mother for something after their father had already turned them down.

It was first assigned an R-rating.

Although studios tend to avoid R-rated superhero films, there have been many good ones. This is because an R-rating restricts the amount of people who can see the movie, which usually means a smaller box office gross. However, Black Adam’s producers revealed that the DC movie was first granted a R rating, indicating that the Motion Picture Association (MPAA) wasn’t a major issue for the movie.

The picture, according to producers Beau Flynn and Hiram Garcia, went through four rounds with the MPAA before receiving the rating; the final PG-13 cut had only been completed a few weeks earlier. “We truly appreciate some private times, but we had to let them go,” they clarified. But we refused to back down, and we avoided having to cut any scenes.

In his first costume, Johnson felt like he was in an SNL parody.

Despite the fact that Johnson has been marketing Black Adam more than any other product in his career and that many have noted he has returned to his wrestler persona, he wasn’t quite as confident when he first tried on the outfit. But that was the first version of the garment before the muscular padding was taken out.

Johnson went on, “It was, like, ridiculous,” expressing his sense of being in a parody of Saturday Night Live. That’s why I asked them to remove the muscle padding. I wanted to work really hard at my career. I decided to get in the best physical condition of my life because I thought Black Adam truly deserved that kind of performance. Now that it is without padding, the muscle has almost brought shame to every other superhero outfit in Marvel and DC movies.

The Stars Have Spin-Off Ideas

These days, a superhero movie receiving negative reviews or even bombing doesn’t necessarily imply the franchise is finished. Even though it’s unclear how Black Adam will fare at the box office during his first weekend of release, the film’s cast have already come up with ideas for spin-offs.
