Fans are curious as to whether the song, which is track three on The Tortured Poet’s Department, is about Joe Alwyn, Matty Healy, or another individual who has harmed the 34-year-old Shake It Off singer in the past.

“Cause it fit too right, puzzle pieces in the dead of night / I should’ve known it was a matter of time, oh, oh,” sings the chorus, “My boy only breaks his favorite toys, toys, oh / I’m queen of sand castles he destroys, oh, oh.”

The Eras Tour mastermind clarified that the topic is a metaphor from the viewpoint of a child’s favorite toy in an interview with Amazon Music.

“He is appreciative that their relationship also contributed to his becoming well-known,” adding, “He has made a great deal of money off the six songs he wrote for Taylor in the past.”
