Just days following the release of her latest album The Tortured Poets Department, the 34-year-old superstar took to YouTube to share a Short video showcasing her practice for the return of the tour, which resumes on May 9 in Paris, France

A few days after the release of her most recent album, The Tortured Poets Department, the 34-year-old diva uploaded a little video to YouTube. In the video, she was getting ready for the tour’s imminent return, which is set to start on May 9 in Paris, France.

The montage’s music was her brand-new hit single, Fortnight, featuring Post Malone.

Fans readily identified several scenes from the original Eras Tour, but some speculated that Taylor might be adding songs from her latest album into the set list, based on a few unfamiliar moments

Fans could readily recognize many of the events from the original Eras Tour, although some speculated that Taylor would be adding songs from her most recent album to the setlist based on a few odd occurrences.

Taylor Swift fans have been hard work since the release of The Tortured Poets Department earlier last week - with some figuring out dates that she recorded tracks off the album

One in particular showed a Swiftie standing in the center of the stage with her dancers flanking her, wielding canes and donning top hats, and exclaiming, “Taylor Swift you have some explaining to do!”

Additionally, there's a snippet of Taylor seated with her guitar, sparking speculation among fans that this could herald a fresh performance moment

“Background dancers have canes and a top hat—when did that happen?” inquired the admirer known only as armaisacat in 1989. 

Many fans quickly recognized some moments from the first Eras Tour, but based on a few strange moments, others conjectured that Taylor would be adding songs from her most recent album to the set list.

One in particular, in which Swift is positioned at the center of the stage, flanked by her dancers adorned in top hats and grasping canes, had a Swiftie commenting , 'Taylor Swift you have some explaining to do!!'

Fans are curious as to whether the brief video of Taylor seated with her guitar indicates a new performance moment.

The Eras Tour, which kicks up in March 2023, is a compilation show that includes songs from all of her albums since the publication of her self-titled debut album in 2006. 

Fans were uncertain whether Taylor will perform a set especially for The Tortured Poets Department or incorporate the songs into her surprise song section before to her Paris show. 

One in particular featured a Swiftie saying, “Taylor Swift you have some explaining to do!” while Swift is positioned in the middle of the stage with her dancers flanking her and wearing top hats and holding canes.

The Swifties have obviously been working hard since The Tortured Poets Department came out earlier this week; some of them have even gone so far as to find the dates Taylor Swift recorded the songs for the album.

The Bad Blood vocalist recently discussed her interpretations on the meanings of Clara Bow and Fortnight, two tracks from the 11th studio album. 

The Grammy winner stopped by NYC’s Electric Lady Studios earlier this year between dates on her completely booked Eras Tour. At the time, fans had no idea that she was recording songs for her next album.

There’s also a little clip of Taylor sitting with her guitar, which has fans wondering if this could be the start of a new performance moment.

Some behind-the-scenes pictures from the recording process were recently made public by Jack Antonoff, who worked on the creation of TTPD. These made it possible for fans to identify which takes of specific songs had been recorded by comparing their outfits. 

A person on social media on X going by the handle @bigsurlor shared studio comparison shots alongside the BTS images that Antonoff had shared. 

 He had shared brief videos and images on social media, each accompanied by a note identifying the song they had recorded.

Up to her performance in Paris, fans are unsure of whether Taylor will debut a special set for The Tortured Poets Department or include the songs in her surprise song segment.

Later that same month on May 24, the singer was spotted returning to the studio in a white cropped top as well as a matching, maxi skirt

A fan on X originally shared a photo of Taylor leaving the recording studio on May 18, of last year. She was wearing floral-printed leggings and a white, short-sleeved shirt. 

Her blond hair was pulled back into a modest ponytail at the nape of her head, and her bangs rested gently across her forehead. 

Swift was filming The Black Dog when Jack uploaded a video of her with the same outfit and hairdo. 

The singer was spotted returning to the recording studio on May 24, a later date in the same month, wearing a white crop top and matching maxi skirt. 

Since The Tortured Poets Department was released earlier this week, Taylor Swift’s fans have been very dedicated, with some even tracking out the dates that she recorded certain songs for the album.

Earlier last year during breaks in her sold-out Eras Tour, the Grammy winner stopped by Electric Lady Studios in NYC. Unbeknownst to fans at the time, she had been recording songs for her new album

Polaroid photos that Antonoff released of Taylor and Florence Welch from Florence & The Machines dressed alike revealed the day the two recorded Florida!!!. 

On May 31st of last year, the gorgeous woman made the decision to dress in all black with a black leather belt around her waist. 

Earlier in the year, the Grammy winner visited NYC’s Electric Lady Studios in between stops on her sold-out Eras Tour. Fans were unaware at the time that she was recording tracks for her next album.

When Taylor was recording Fresh Out The Slammer, the producer shared a photo of her with the same hairstyle. Taylor brushed her hair away from her face. 

Taylor looked great for summer on June 29, the next month, wearing a white and red flowery shirt with black denim shorts. 

She slipped on some cozy black closed-toe shoes and tied her hair back into a ponytail. Notably, she had worn the exact same outfit when “Down Bad” was recorded. 

Lastly, a small video of Post Malone from his October 2017 visit on The Howard Stern Show was shared by an X fan. 

Earlier this week, Taylor revealed the inspirations behind some tracks on TTPD in a special, track-by-track experience, available to stream on Amazon Music

The fan on X first posted a picture of Taylor on May 18, 2017, exiting the recording studio. She was dressed in a white, short-sleeved top and floral-print pants.

The Circles hitmaker stated in the video, “I recently got to hang out with her [Taylor], and she is genuinely one of the most, like, kind and considerate and a hell of a songwriter.” 

Based to his remarks made during the interview, the X fan thought that their work on Fortnight took place “between October 4-October 10, 2023.” 

Taylor revealed the backstories of several of the songs from TTPD earlier this week in a special audio that is available to stream on Amazon Music track per track.

On May 24, during that same month, the singer was seen going back to the recording studio wearing a matching maxi skirt and white crop top.

She explained, saying, “I watch Dateline all the time,” in reference to Florida!!! Where do these people go straight after committing these crimes? They head to Florida. 

They try to fit in, change who they are, and take on a new identity. I think that after a heartbreak, there’s a part of you that thinks, “I want a new name.” All I want is a new life. I don’t want anybody to know who I am or where I’ve been. 

Finally, the X fan posted a clip of Post Malone from October of last year’s appearance on The Howard Stern Show.

TTPD also broke the record for the most albums streamed on Spotify in a single day with over 300 million streams. 

On April 19, Swift released the music video for “Fortnight,” which included Post Malone alongside Dead Poets Society members Josh Charles and Ethan Hawke.  

Shortly after the release of the music video on Friday, Taylor shared a number of behind-the-scenes pictures on her regular Instagram account.

In a unique track-by-track experience earlier this week, Taylor discussed the inspirations behind a few of the songs on TTPD, which is streamable on Amazon Music.

She explained the purpose of the music video to her fans in a note to them, saying, “When I was writing the Fortnight music video, I wanted to show you the worlds I saw in my head that served as the backdrop for making this music.”

“Almost everything in it is a metaphor or alludes to another section of the album.” I think this video is the best way to visually represent this record and the stories I tell on it.
