FELT GUILTY: Cody Rhodes Reveals Verbal Barb to Dwayne Johnson That Almost Lost Him Fans

When it came to mistreating The American Nightmare throughout the WrestleMania build-up, The Rock typically goes above and beyond, but Cody Rhodes wasn’t far behind. During their weekly show verbal sparring, the former AEW member used some really offensive language in his promos. Between the last Bloodline promo and the Shows of the Immortal, Rhodes called The Rock a “a**h*le” and mentioned his “LDS,” or “little d**k syndrome.”

But that didn’t make the former Stardust feel good because it didn’t fit with his real motivation or his idealized portrayal of himself to the kids.

Cody Rhodes let out about his true views regarding the controversial “LDS” ad.

Since rejoining the organization, Cody Rhodes has been performing at the highest level possible for a baby face. Before awarding him the rightful prize, WWE demanded him go above and above. Rhodes recovered from a devastating setback at WrestleMania 39 and demonstrated his value by winning several challenges. But he received steadfast support from supporters the entire time he worked to finish his novel, and he lived up to that expectation. However, it might not be the best or healthiest thing for his young followers and family members given what he said to The Rock in a highly disparaging pre-Mania ad.

After realizing this, Rhodes admitted, “I felt a little guilty because I have a lot of young, young, young fans and I would never want them to ask their mom about ‘LDS’ or this or that,” in an open conversation with the SI Media podcast. My time with WWE has been primarily focused on entertaining families and giving these young children nightmares. If I am their guy, then I just wouldn’t want to mislead them in any way, and hopefully that interview didn’t turn them off to me. My wife was loving it, and everyone else seemed really excited about it after, but I recall feeling a little guilty.
