When the iconic singer-songwriter showed up at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) wearing a full-length gown entirely covered in shimmering circular mirrors, all eyes were on her. 

With all the metallic embellishments on the nude halter dress and the delicate gold-coin accents that trailed across her shoulders and collarbone, Swift looked stunning on the red carpet. To emphasize the dazzling quality of the ensemble, she opted for a coppery smokey eye and kept her accessories minimal, matching her earrings to the golden hardware on the gown.

You can tell if someone isn’t frightened to be seen by looking at a garment made almost entirely of tiny mirrors, and with the recent release of her upcoming album, “Midnights,” Swift appears to be reentering the spotlight—not that she ever truly disappeared. She wrote, directed, and produced the 35 mm short film “All Too Well,” which starred Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien, and which she screened at TIFF. She did, however, add that she could also envision herself directing a feature-length movie at some time, given the popularity of the 15-minute video, which just took home the MTV Video Music Award for video of the year.
