Swift met some of her fans at the Guangzhou Tianhe Sport Center on November 11 as part of an event put together by Tencent Music Entertainment and Universal Music China. The show was live streamed online, and there were about 8,000 fans in the venue.

In 2019, Swift’s seventh studio album, Lover, became the best-selling digital record from a Western artist on TME platforms. It came out on August 23. She added two songs that are only available in China to the digital version of the record so that she could connect with her fans there even more.
