After making a huge impression at WrestleMania XL, Dwayne Johnson needed to get to Las Vegas quickly on Monday, April 8. This is because he was supposed to make an announcement about Disney’s next initiative, of which he is now a formal member. If you enjoyed his performance in Moana, be ready for an exciting new journey with Maui and Moana.

Moana 2 is announced by Dwayne Johnson.

Johnson surprised everyone in Hollywood with a surprise appearance at Cinecon in Vegas this Monday. A traditional Polynesian dance performance preceded the Moana 2 preview, then The Rock interjected. Following the demonstration of a few maneuvers from his native country, Johnson talked about his experience working on the Moana team. “It’s so much deeper of a movie to me, and it’s so much deeper of a movie to Disney as well,” he added while making the movie announcement. We can’t wait to go on a brand-new journey with audiences everywhere.

Johnson’s comeback as Maui has been confirmed thus far. In addition, Auli’i Cravalho is returning to play Moana once more. Aside from this, it appears that the princess and her demigod companion would travel over wide oceans to an unidentified island as a more intriguing storyline is revealed in the follow-up.

A live-action Moana version is also in the works and is scheduled for release in 2026. Fans can already look forward to the animated sequel’s anticipated November 2024 release. But unlike Moana 2, none of the cast members will be making a comeback.

Dwayne Johnson will collaborate with an emerging artist. The principal voice actor will not be making a comeback in the live-action adaptation of the popular Disney animated film, but The Brahma Bull is expected to make a reappearance as Maui. Cravalho has formally declared that she has accepted the role of “Moana.” The voice actress expressed her wish that someone who could truly embody the character would be given this opportunity.

We will still see her in the future animation production even though she is not in the live-action one. It’s feasible that Auli’i will return for Moana’s next journey if she gets to have one after her second one.
