The romance between Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Lauren Hashian started around 2007.

In 2006, the two initially crossed paths on the set of The Game Plan. The following year, they began dating. They dated for a decade and a half before getting hitched in 2019. Together with her ex-wife, film producer Dany Garcia, Johnson has a daughter named Simone Alexandra. The married couple also has two children, Jasmine and Tiana.

Starring as Black Adam, the actor first gained notoriety as a professional wrestler in 1996. Johnson made the switch to acting in the early 2000s, and since then, he has acted in several successful movies, such as Moana and The Fate of the Furious. She grew up in Massachusetts

Parents Sib and Suzanne Hashian reared Hashian in Massachusetts. Her brother Adam and sister Aja make up her siblings.

Sib was the former drummer for the rock group Boston. Hashian stated to Billboard in December 2021 that growing up with her dad’s drum room right next to her bedroom meant she was always going to be a musician.

She remarked, “He practiced in the drum room every single day of his life, even after his band had already broken up.” “After observing him practice every day, I developed the belief that I should follow suit and practice daily as well.”

According to an October 2018 interview with Coveteur, she later attended Emerson College in Boston, where she won a talent competition and converted her dorm room into a recording studio.

She is a musician

Hashian decided against pursuing a career in music as a recording artist after earning a bachelor’s degree in public relations and communications. Rather, according to her LinkedIn, she accepted a position as the creative synch coordinator at Warner Music Group and afterwards worked for Paramount Pictures’ music division.

Hashian was motivated to go back to her original songs after having her daughters.

As a child, I was quite shy, and I didn’t stop being shy until… I had a child,” she said to Billboard. “After that, I had a lot more self-assurance in my own body and emotions. Her 2020 release “Ride The Wave” with Natalie Martinez and Naz Tokio is one of her projects. Another is the Love…And Other Things (Side A) EP, which was published in 2021.

She also directed the music video for Eric Zayne’s “Exile,” which was featured in Black Adam, and co-wrote the song “On The Run” by Naz Tokio, which played over Red Notice’s closing credits.

She met Johnson in 2006

Hashian crossed paths with Johnson on the set of the sports comedy movie The Game Plan in 2006, and they started dating a year later. The actor told WSJ. Magazine in December 2019 that neither of them was looking for a relationship at the time, as he had just split with his ex-wife Garcia.

“At the time, I was going through my breakup with Dany and [Hashian] was just coming off a big breakup, too,” he said. “Ironically, when you’re not looking for something, the power of the universe kind of takes over.”

Speaking to PEOPLE in February 2012, Johnson further expressed how lucky he felt to find love again.

“I was so fortunate to have fallen in love once,” he said. “To fall in love again? That’s a hard thing to do twice in the position I’m in. I’m one lucky son of a bitch.”

 

She was close with her dad

Sib passed away in March 2017 at the age of 67 after passing out after a performance on a cruise with a Legends of Rock theme.

Johnson paid homage to him on Instagram with a sincere post. He wrote, “Rest in Peace & Love to my second dad Sib Hashian,” as the photo’s description. “The way you’ve passed on is incredibly poetic and yet wonderful. I appreciate all of the life lessons you have imparted to me throughout the years. Sib, you are loved by us.

She posted an old family photo to Instagram the day before Johnson and Hashian got married, honoring her father on the day he would have turned 70.

She secretly married Johnson in 2019

After dating for 12 years, Johnson and Hashian tied the knot in Hawaii on August 18, 2019.

The actor revealed to WSJ Magazine that his last relationship made him hesitant to get married again. Johnson claimed, “My divorce did a number on me.” “I had some hesitation, but I wasn’t afraid to get married again. Lauren, on the other hand, was very patient and said, “I love you, you love me, we have this amazing life together — no pretense.”

The couple took great care to make sure there were no paparazzi there on their special day, and their weddings were kept very discreet. Johnson continued, “In case there were helicopters, we had a full security detail.” Nobody was aware. Shocked, but incredibly appreciative. The silence was a huge victory for me because my life is usually so loud and boisterous.”

At eight in the morning, Johnson and Hashian said their vows in front of a small number of guests, which included their two kids, the actor’s mother, and his producing partner, the brother of his ex-wife, Hiram Garcia.

Johnson and Hashian are the parents of two daughters. The couple welcomed their older child, Jasmine, on Dec. 16, 2015, and their younger daughter, Tiana, on April 17, 2018.

Speaking with Coveteur in October 2018, Hashian said that because their family moves around a lot, she’s often juggling work and being a “constant” presence for her children.

“I do feel like I have to be the … one foundation in the girls’ life, so every single day I’m with them from the time they wake up until nap time,” she said. “If I’m going to work that day, I wait until she [Jasmine] goes to sleep, then I go to work for four to five hours.”

Hashian continued, “It’s amazing when you have kids and you have goals, you just find a way to fit it all in, and you don’t necessarily work harder with your time, you just work smarter and find a way to get it all done.”

In May 2021, Johnson posted a sweet Mother’s Day tribute to Hashian on Instagram, praising her for being a role model for their daughters. The actor called his wife “the KINDEST, WARMEST & HAPPIEST (and toughest;) SOUL.”

He captioned personal pictures of Hashian, “You are the shining example to our daughters who’s love and adoration for you is boundless – that it’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice. ily dj x #happymothersday ️.”

 

She released a song dedicated to Johnson in 2020

On their first wedding anniversary in August 2020, Hashian released the song “Step Into a Love Like This” alongside a video on Instagram. She had written the track two weeks before her wedding to Johnson and presented it to her husband privately before they said, “I do.”

The two intended to get married in 2018 but postponed for a year because Hashian was pregnant with their second daughter, Tiana. When Hashian debuted the song’s music video in October 2020, she hinted at other delays and the visual for “Step Into a Love Like This” featured wedding footage from couples affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“After releasing ‘Step Into a Love Like This’ and sharing our wedding video with the world, Dwayne and I received a lot of messages from people who had their own wedding plans derailed,” Hashian said in a press release for the video.

She continued, “While it wasn’t due to COVID, we had our own set of unforeseen obstacles to get to our wedding day. This year has presented so many hurdles so we wanted to do something to honor these couples. What it turned into was more than we ever expected. It became a celebration of love from all over the entire world, honoring all kinds of people, families and couples.”
