On the first night of her five shows at Staples Center, Taylor Swift asks Kobe Bryant to join her on stage.
Even though Kobe Bryant didn’t play basketball with the Lakers again, he was at Staples Center on Friday night with Taylor Swift to help the famous singer reveal her own banner.
Bryant surprised everyone by being the second guest at her show. It was the first of five shows at Staples Center during her 1989 World Tour.
Before Bryant came on stage, Swift had asked Ryan Tedder of One Republic to join her. Together, they sang One Republic’s hit song “Counting Stars.”
During Swift’s performance of “Style,” the famous Lakers guard walked across the stage on a long runway. Then he told the band to turn down the volume and told the crowd to look at Swift’s flag.
Bryant says that Swift has sold out Staples Center a record 16 times, which includes the five shows she has planned there until Wednesday.
Last season, Bryant’s basketball career was plagued by injuries. He could only play in 35 games before he had to have surgery on his shoulder, which ended his season. He should be fully better by the time the 2018 season starts, though.
