On Friday, Taylor Swift fulfilled the wish of a nine-year-old child who is critically sick.
Swift autographed a ’22’ fedora for child Scarlett, who is battling an aggressive form of brain cancer, at the first of her Sydney gigs on her Eras tour.
As she sings her song 22, Taylor has made it customary to award a signature hat to one lucky fan in the audience.
Scarlett’s stepmother Natalie had stated on social media earlier on Friday that her stepdaughter had wished to meet Taylor.
“Taylor Swift was Scarlett’s wish when she received a “Wish” from the Make-A-Wish Foundation,” Natalie stated in the post.
“Unfortunately, they told us this couldn’t happen, but with the help of social media and some kind people, we were able to get tickets and attend the concert.”
She then posted a photo of Scarlett, who has only been given 12 to 18 months to live, with a sign that said, “Taylor, may I please have the 22 hat?”
Taylor granted the young girl’s wish at the concert later on.
Scarlett was called up to the stage by the singer, who gave her a hug and a loving kiss on the hands as she passed the fedora to her.
Social media users were delighted by the touching sight after seeing the footage of the event.
One person said, “I’m crying,” while another uploaded a string of sobbing emojis.
It’s the cutest thing ever! “She truly deserves it!” exclaimed a fellow Swiftie.
Another said, “Aw, they picked the right Swiftie,” and a third said, “Not even there and me and my sister are in tears.”
Tearfully crying out. So priceless! Someone else said.
Beginning on Friday, February 23, and ending on Monday, February 26, Swift will play four gigs in Sydney.
