Prior to WrestleMania XL, tonight’s WWE RAW edition served as the program’s last episode. This edition, which aired live from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, discussed the fallout from last week’s defeat of Cody Rhodes. Roman Reigns and Dwayne Johnson were both at the show. Fans immediately noted some visual alterations to The Rock’s entrance graphics as he kicked off the event.
Since his heel shift, Johnson has altered his Final Boss entrance three times. The Rock updated his graphic while attempting to look menacing.Dwayne Johnson appeared in the visuals for his own entrance.Johnson has noticed certain adjustments to his entrance after his heel turn. The first was the resurgence of his 2000s heel theme song. The Rock made sure everyone knew he was the biggest heel in the organization with a slower guitar solo and a more heelish tone to the song. The images that appear on screen as he enters would be the next thing to modify. The Rock would be adorned with lightning and a spotlight to give him a more godlike presence, modeled after his film Black Adam. Today, though, the graphics have a fresh addition. The lights went out for The Rock’s entrance as the more than 15,000 spectators awaited RAW’s debut. Everything proceeded as normal up to Johnson’s appearance. When he finally emerged, a new image appeared and flickered across the screen. One of the entryway visuals featured an image of The Brahma Bull himself. The entrance here was unlike any other by a considerable margin. Johnson has never changed his visuals—just his bull logo and title. But this would be the first time The Rock’s entrance graphics featured his own picture. The Rock gave a fantastic beginning, but Seth Rollins had something much better in store for him. Rollins emerged from the crowd and issued a main event match challenge to Johnson. This would be the payback for Cody Rhodes’ ordeal. But The Tribal Chief and The Rock both refuted it. Solo Sikoa would be the last person still qualified for the match. Johnson did, however, include a Bloodline requirement in the match. Later evidence revealed that Reigns had left the arena to prepare his Hall of Fame induction speech for Paul Heyman prior to WrestleMania XL.
