The planned Furiosa prequel will have Anya Taylor-Joy traveling into the Mad Max universe. But prior to taking on the role of Imperator Furiosa, the actress made a statement with her outfit on a night out that seemed more akin to The Matrix than the harsh setting of her upcoming movie.
Taylor-Joy recently graced an after-party in London’s West End honoring Cara Delevingne’s Cabaret performance at the Kit Kat Club on a Thursday night. Taylor-Joy, accompanied by her husband, musician Malcolm McRae, wore a monotone black suit that skillfully combined fashion and utility. Her neatly layered turtleneck maxi dress with an undone matching cardigan served as the centerpiece of her ensemble. She kept her monochromatic look going by accessorizing with an oversized leather bag and pointed-toe ballet flats. Taylor-Joy accessorized with silver pendant necklace and gold hoops earrings, maintaining a minimal yet stunning makeup look.
McRae, on the other hand, seemed to embrace the quintessential British fashion sensibility, donning a khaki trench coat, a staple in London’s fashion scene. He paired this with a white button-down shirt, a patterned tie, and dress pants, completing his sophisticated look. Upon arrival at the venue, Taylor-Joy reunited with Delevingne, who was captivating audiences with her portrayal of Sally Bowles in Cabaret. Delevingne, too, showcased her own take on tailoring, opting for an oversized blazer paired with black boots, a leather belt, and striking stage makeup.
Although Taylor-Joy’s evening out had a laid-back elegance about it, the actress’s busy months are ahead of her. After receiving a lot of praise for her unexpected presence in Dune: Part Two, she is going to be at the much awaited Cannes Film Festival premiere of Furiosa in May. Taylor-Joy, who is well-known for her creative wardrobe choices, will no doubt enthrall audiences with her upcoming appearances as she showcases her distinct style, which draws inspiration from the Furiosa universe.
