As fans of Swiftie fans are aware, blue is linked to her 1989 period, which was the beginning of her musical partnerships with Antonoff. Swift donned a blue blouse with a blue sky and seagulls on the 1989 original cover. The album’s song “This Love” also mentions the color blue in its lyrics, which read, “Clear blue water/High tide came and brought you in.”

Throughout the show, the actress donned five distinct blue ensembles that drew inspiration from the era: a custom Nicole + Felicia ballgown in an icy blue hue; an Alberta Ferretti sky blue gown with a gossamer cape sleeves; a teal dress over her sequined two-piece that also featured pleated tiers, an asymmetrical hem, and off-the-shoulder puff sleeves; and a Zuhair Murad Couture beaded garter over her fishnet stockings.

Swift and Antonoff appear to have first connected at the 2012 MTV European Music Awards and then again at the GRAMMY Nominations Concert, marking the beginning of their ten-year collaboration. The two collaborated on the singer’s albums Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and her most recent endeavor, Midnights, after working together on 1989. Additionally, Antonoff produced the rerecorded versions of Swift’s songs Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version), and Fearless (Taylor’s Version).

Swift was essential in Antonoff’s record-producing career, as he discussed in a 2022 interview with The New Yorker: “I’d been trying to produce for a while, but there was always some industry herb going, ‘That’s cute, but that’s not your lane.'” Taylor was the first influential person to say, “I like how this sounds, I’m putting it on my record,” and then all of a sudden she was granted permission to work as a producer.”

Celebrities such as Cara Delevingne, Lana Del Rey, Andie MacDowell, Qualley’s mother, and Channing Tatum and girlfriend Zoë Kravitz attended Antonoff and Qualley’s wedding in addition to Swift.
