A few famous people have an obsession with hair color changes. Just observe how frequently the Kardashian women engage in it. However, one emerging star wants to alter her hair because she despises her current hairstyle, not because she likes a change. In a Buzzfeed interview, Billie Eilish stated that she despises having blue hair.

Eilish had a conversation about everything in her career with Buzzfeed and some adorable, adoptable puppies, but her now-famous blue hair turned out to be one of the most fascinating topics. Buzzfeed starts the interview by questioning Eilish about why she dyed her hair various blue tones. Whoops, it turns out that she despises the color in general, not just in her hair.

Eilish admits in the interview that blue isn’t really her favorite color and that she’s not even sure how she ended up coloring it. She told Buzzfeed, “I simply kind of got used to it for a time before realizing that I looked like someone with colored hair. I failed to time that. Despite having blue hair, I didn’t consider myself to be someone with blue hair. I was just thinking that I was me, with blue hair. I then recognized that, as is often the case with people who notice persons with colored hair, they probably thought to themselves, “Oh, she has blue hair.”

While Eilish may have made the realization that she does, in fact, have blue hair, the issue is that it’s not actually going anywhere. It’s not because she refuses to dye. She goes on to tell Buzzfeed that the person who dyed it last October used a permanent dye on her locks making it nearly impossible to remove the blue. In fact, she says she spent hours upon hours in a salon chair trying to remove the color, but it’s just a no go.

If there is a light at the end of this blue tunnel, though, it’s that Eilish does look really great with blue hair.

She’s also in good company. While blue may not Eilish’s favorite color (far from it apparently), the hue seems to be having a major moment among celebrities right now. Could Eilish have started a trend and not really meant to?
