With the song “What Was I Made For?” from the wildly successful Barbie film, Eilish won the Oscar for Best Original Song.

The multitalented actress was wearing the same black jacket and striped shirt that she wore to the Oscar celebration presented by Vanity Fair, but her long, dark hair was secured in a ponytail, and her makeup appeared to have been slightly removed.

Following their performance of their song in the show, Billie and her 26-year-old brother and co-writer Finneas O’Connell accepted the award jointly.

After No Time to Die, the James Bond theme song, won Best Original Song in 2022, the two have now won two Oscars.

As a result, Billie broke the record for the youngest individual to win several Academy Awards, with Finneas coming in second.

Following a stellar season of award shows, their triumph cemented Billie’s status as the first female recipient of the Triple Crown, which consists of the Oscar, Grammy, and Golden Globe for film music, twice.

Why Did I Get Made? was compared to other Barbie song I am Just Ken (Ryan Gosling), It Never Went Away by American Symphony, The Fire Inside by Flamin’ Hot, and Wahzhazhe (A Song for My People) by Killers of the Flower Moon.

During her acceptance speech, Billie mentioned, “Last night, I had a nightmare about this.”

“I am incredibly grateful to the Academy.” I simply did not anticipate this would occur and was not prepared for it. I am really grateful and honored.

I am appreciative of this music, this movie, and the emotions they evoked in me. This is dedicated to everyone who was impacted by the film and acknowledges its remarkable quality.
