“What Was I Made For?” by Eilish and O’Connell is a song from the movie “Barbie” that is nominated for best original song at an upcoming award event hosted by Jimmy Kimmel at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 10, at 7 p.m. EDT. The song “I am Just Ken” by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt was sung by Ryan Gosling in the movie. Gosling is nominated for best supporting actor for his role as Barbie’s longtime boyfriend. Gosling is scheduled to perform at the ceremony.

Eilish and O’Connell attend the Oscars after winning a Golden Globe and a Grammy for “What Was I Made For?” this awards season. They performed the song at the Grammy stage and received the song of the year award earlier this month.

During her Grammy victory speech, Eilish expressed gratitude to “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig and hailed the box office blockbuster as “the best movie of the year.” The film is a contender for the best picture category at the Oscars, while Gerwig is nominated for best adapted screenplay alongside her partner, Noah Baumbach, but not for best director.

Eilish reminisced about seeing “Barbie” at the Golden Globes in January, a year after the event.

She claimed that she was deeply unhappy and despondent when she wrote the song, and creating it helped her cope. A year later, she found it weird to win the award for best original song in a motion picture. “I feel extremely fortunate and appreciative … This is of utmost significance.
