Returning for its 39th year, the Film Independent Spirit Awards are Hollywood’s most prestigious event honouring the independent film and television industry.

The nominations were revealed in December, and among the books that received five nods each were American Fiction, May December, and Past Lives.
A number of films, including All of Us, American Fiction, May December, Passages, Past Lives, and We Grown Now, will be vying for the prestigious Best Feature award tonight.
Numerous Hollywood heavyweights, such as Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Natalie Portman, and many more, are in the running for nominations.
