Celebrities appear to have nailed the perfect balance between daring looks and the kind of refined attire required for events like premieres and galas. Among the numerous who have embraced the trend is Anya Taylor-Joy, who has recently presented what may be her most extreme rendition to date.
Makeup artist Georgie Eisdell posted multiple photos of Taylor-Joy in Brazil in the days leading up to the launch of her new film, Furiosa, a prequel to Mad Max. The actress is seen donning a Grace Ling gown in a rich brown hue, which features numerous skin-baring elements that give the traditional cut-out a modern spin. First, the skirt was attached to the bodice by means of a lengthy ribbon that was wound around the actress’s neck. The majority of cut-out styles need cloth or, as Nicole Kidman recently demonstrated, a real musical instrument; however, Taylor-Joy’s version only required one string. As if that were not daring enough, another string coiled horizontally around the actress’ waist to complete the look.
Although we were unable to see Taylor-Joy’s lower half of her outfit, we can probably conclude that most of the cutouts were in the top part. There was a matching bra top with a gold bar across the front, in addition to the plunging detail. The dress may have had a simple design, but the attention-grabbing skin-baring slashes were the show-stopper.
While in Brazil, Taylor-Joy gave fans a sneak peek at her Mad Max prequel role as Imperator Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron, in her younger years.
