RETURNING DAY: Billie Eilish on why she recycled her 2020 Oscars look – Billie Eilish makes a bold statement with sultry sheer top and chic matching gloves

Billie Eilish attended the 2024 Costume Designers Guild Awards in Hollywood last night as an honoree. A visionary trailblazer whose fashion choices honour other inventive designers is the recipient of the Vanguard Spotlight Award, which the singer received. Not only that, but the actress—who shared a Golden Globe with her brother Finneas for Best Original Song—was praised for her commitment to sustainable fashion, especially for her use of repurposed and vintage pieces. According to a press release, “Eilish has always prioritised ethics and incorporated her beliefs into her looks,” meaning that she has never compromised her image and has remained true to herself.

Billie Eilish seized the chance to dress to impress at a costume party in Los Angeles this week, continuing her streak of bold fashion statements.

At the event, the Grammy and Oscar winner wore designer Gucci, a label that she frequently favours.

Billie sported a nearly see-through black top that cascaded down her arms and finished in gloves, elevating the look to a high fashion level.

In order to conceal the nearly see-through top, the Ocean Eyes singer threw on a matching Gucci shirt, taking her outfit from stylish to her customary high-end casual-cool vibe.

The 22-year-old, who is always rock star material, wore a pair of dark sunglasses and had her hair in a loose ponytail.

As a result of her and her brother Finneas’s remarkable award season sweep, the singer has been making numerous public appearances recently. All three major award shows this year bestowed nominations upon the musical duo: the Golden Globes, the Grammys, and the Oscars.

Billie and Finneas took home hardware at the Golden Globes for Best Original Song and at the Grammys for Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media. The song “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie soundtrack was responsible for both of their victories.

The song has received a Best Original Song nomination at the Oscars, so the siblings are surely crossing their fingers for more recognition. The 2022 James Bond film’s theme song, “No Time to Die,” by Billie and Finneas, took home the same prize.

Flamin’ Hot, American Symphony, Killers of the Flower Moon, and another Barbie song, Ryan Gosling’s power ballad “I am Just Ken,” are some of the competitors they will have to contend with.

Billie, 26, wore an outfit reminiscent of the 1965 Poodle Parade Barbie, complete with a green dress, a green-and-white plaid cardigan, and a satin pink scarf over a pink shirt. Finneas, 26, was also on stage at the Grammys, where they performed their winning song.

Meanwhile, Billie nailed her signature laid-back cool look at the ceremony in a bomber jacket that was both black and pink. The jacket had bright pink sleeves and was embroidered with the Barbie insignia.

At the event, Billie sported a pair of black-tinted shades and an air of casual coolness thanks to her straight, black hairstyle with vibrant red dyed roots.
