The Rock Jokes That the Sold-Out 100k Crowd at Daytona 500 Is Thanks to His Grand Marshal Gig

Nowadays, Dwayne Johnson is in NASCAR.

The Rock made his way back into the WWE ranks as he made his way to WrestleMania. Outside of the company, he still has a full schedule, and today is a very exciting day for him.

Prepared for the Daytona 500 is The Rock.
WrestleMania 40 is quickly approaching, but The Rock isn’t worrying about it today as he returns to WWE television. He plays a big part in the Daytona 500, which is about to happen.

The Great One will probably get a major introduction during the pre-race ceremonies, and Dwayne Johnson will serve as the race’s major Marshal.

Daytona 500 Grand Marshall Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson speaks during a press conference at Daytona International Speedway, Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024.

The Rock posted on Instagram about arriving in Daytona Beach the day before the race in his pickup truck. But he also mentioned the rain and said he hoped the weather would clear up so the racecourse would be safe.

Denny Hamlin gives an interview during Media Day at Daytona International Speedway, Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024.

In Daytona Beach, sweetheart, we’re getting into some midnight tequila trouble! (Actually, because I can’t sleep, I’m going to the gym;) I’m excited to serve as Grand Marshall for tomorrow’s renowned Daytona 500; it’s an incredible honour for me, and I’m looking forward to it. I’m hoping for clear skies so the lads can race safely and have a great time. Totally Sold Out – More than 100,000 Strong! LFG!

The Rock boasted about the Daytona 500’s sold-out attendance of over 100,000 people, joking that it was all his fault. Then he swiftly acknowledged that he was not involved in any of the ticket sales for that particular event. He claimed that the outstanding NASCAR drivers were solely responsible.

He also hoped that the big race would not be marred by weather. He mentioned that they had discussed what to do because it was pouring last night. Ultimately, he wishes for the safety of every driver.

What The Rock’s Future Holds
The Rock may have looked quite happy in this video, but that is not the WWE character he currently plays. He ridiculed the SmackDown audience in Salt Lake City this week, demonstrating his current popularity as a heel on WWE television.

The Rock also unambiguously said that he became a member of The Bloodline stable. Another significant shift in his path to WrestleMania was giving up his match against Roman Reigns to Cody Rhodes. It will be fascinating to see if the Daytona 500 audience continues to boo him, given his current heel streak.

Update: A delay due to rain
There was rain during the Daytona 500. Having said that, The Rock stated emphatically that he will be present to serve as the race’s grand marshal on Monday.
