The Daytona 500: What is it?

The 2024 NASCAR Cup season officially begins in the Daytona 500, where defending champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will be competing. However, first, 36 teams and drivers will travel to Los Angeles for the L.A. Memorial Coliseum to host the third edition of the L.A. Clash exhibition race.

One of the most important pre-race awards given out by the race organizers is selecting a grand marshal. This year, Pit Bull, co-owner of Trackhouse Racing and Grammy Award winner, will also be attending the Florida-based event in addition to Johnson. Pit Bull will perform a pre-race show for the crowd.

The announcement that Johnson would be competing in the Daytona 500 thrilled fans.
