WARMING MAN: WWE Alum Dwayne Johnson Surprises 21 Make-A-Wish Kids at Universal Studios

The Make-A-Wish Foundation and professional wrestling have always had a close relationship; in just 21 years, over 650 requests have been granted by celebrities like John Cena.

Another well-known member of the group is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who gave them over $100,000 just a year ago. He recently attempted to surpass it by fulfilling numerous requests in a single day.

A four-minute video that “The Today Show” uploaded on X showed Johnson visiting with twenty-one Make-A-Wish children at Universal Studios Hollywood. During the backlot tour of Universal Studios, Johnson would surprise all the children and their families and then take on the role of tour guide. Ultimately, Johnson would spend five hours conversing with all of the children and their families, much exceeding the one hour he was meant to spend with each. Make-A-Wish has always held special meaning for Johnson, as he told “Today’s” Jacob Soboroff. This was the first New Jersey Make-A-Wish, which was granted in 1983 by his father, WWE Hall of Famer Rocky Johnson.

“This little boy, Bobby, I’ll never forget it, his last wish was to meet my dad,” said Johnson. “It puts things into perspective for you right away.” An emotional Johnson responded by pointing out how important and useful times like these were to those going through a tough time when asked why he had dedicated so much of his time to his involvement with Make-A-Wish when he could theoretically work with any organization in the world. Johnson remarked, “These are kids.” They didn’t ask for the cards they were dealt, but they are making the best play they can with them. These young people are incredibly powerful.”
