Reportedly, Taylor Swift’s parents decided against attending her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s family’s funeral, so they won’t be at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday.
The pop star, 33, rescheduled one of her Ears Tour shows from Saturday to Monday night in Rio de Janeiro due to extreme heat after a fan passed away before her concert on Friday. As a result, she will not be present for her NFL beau and the Chiefs’ Super Bowl rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles, her childhood team.
Additionally, TMZ adds that Andrea and Scott Swift, her parents, will not be present, despite earlier rumors indicating they planned to see their daughter’s boyfriend in action.
The Swifts are apparently going to meet Kelce’s parents, Donna and Ed Kelce, which will be a significant milestone in their budding romance with the pop sensation. This would have been the first time the Swifts had attended one of Kelce’s games.
However, because of her rescheduled gig, the singer was unable to attend the game, and her parents apparently felt it “didn’t make sense” for them to meet the Kelces without her.
Monday Night Football will replay the Super Bowl from the previous season, with the Chiefs and Eagles playing in Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium.
The Week 11 game between Travis and the Chiefs and his brother Jason and Philadelphia is a huge one for the Kelce family as it will reunite the two siblings.
Wearing her go-to half-and-half shirt, Donna served soup at the tailgate, cheering on both of her sons before taking cover in an Arrowhead suite on a rainy Monday evening.
The Love Story singer and her family are apparently still hoping to celebrate Thanksgiving together even though they were unable to connect with Donna and Ed at Arrowhead.
TMZ reports that the families may get together for Thanksgiving at Travis’s brand-new $6 million Kansas City house later this week.
According to TMZ, Travis and Taylor are still figuring out how they will spend Christmas together. On Christmas Day, Kelce and the Chiefs will play the Raiders in Kansas City.
Travis spent thousands on the luxurious property last month because he needed greater seclusion.
The estate features a mini golf course, a waterfall, and a swimming pool—enough to keep the many visitors he appears ready to host entertained.
Taylor and Donna had already crossed paths; at Taylor’s first Chiefs game, she was standing next to Donna in the Kelce suite at Arrowhead Stadium.
Additionally, Scott and Travis have already crossed paths; earlier this month, they were spotted standing alongside at one of Taylor Swift’s concerts in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He played collegiate football and is an avid football fan. On the brothers’ New Heights podcast, Kelce disclosed details about Swift’s father. “I think a year at Hawaii and then a year or two – I forget how long her was there,” Kelce said at the time.
“I believe he was a linebacker who switched to center… he’s a big guy, about six feet two inches.”
‘We’re going to have to get together and talk some center shop some day,’ retorted one of the most well-known centers in professional football, Jason Kelce.
Given how ambiguously the Swifts’ allegiances lay about the Monday Night Football game, this clash may have been intriguing.
Swift is an avid Eagles supporter who was last seen wearing the team’s hoodie in June. She was born and raised in the Philadelphia suburbs before moving to Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 14.
‘Eagles t-shirt hanging from the door’ is how the 12-time Grammy Award winner sings about the NFL team in her song Gold Rush from the Evermore album.
