Travis Kelce talked about his short stay with Taylor Swift and how being with the singer has changed his life.
He is even more well-known now that he is dating Swift. The NFL star won two Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs. Her first trip to Arrowhead Stadium to cheer him on was at the end of September. This made their relationship public.
J. R. Moehringer, who wrote Prince Harry’s book Spare, told Kelce that someone on Swift’s team helped set them up after he told Moehringer that he tried to give her his number after an Eras show in Kansas City but failed.
“She definitely had people on her side who knew who I was and told her, ‘Hey! Did you know he was going to show up? He said, “I had someone play Cupid.”
Soon after, they planned their first date. Even though Kelce is usually very sure of himself on the football field, he was tense.
“We had already talked a little before I met her in New York, so I knew we could have a nice dinner and catch up. You know what will happen after that.”
Initially, he was scared of messing up: “That was the most important thing to me: make sure I don’t say anything that would push Taylor away.”
They got along, though, because Kelce calls Swift “hilarious” and a “genius.”
Kelce also said that he and Taylor sang “Teenage Dirtbag” together late at night at a party at his home in Kansas City.
He laughed and said, “There was definitely some wine involved.”
Besides that, Kelce said that Swift’s fame has changed his own life, but he is getting used to it.
“Of course I’ve never been with someone with that aura…” “I’ve never had to deal with it,” Kelce said. “But I’m not running away from any of it either.”
It seems like the photographers are always taking close pictures of her. Each day, they stand outside her house, every diner she goes to, and every airport she lands in. She’s just going about her business. I shouldn’t act strange when she does that.
The parents of Taylor will meet the parents of Kelce for the first time tonight when Kelce plays for the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are Swift and her dad’s favorite team.
Taya has met Travis’s dad Ed and mom Donna. She sat in the family room with Donna the first time she went to a Chiefs game.
Soon after, Donna was asked about her son’s friendship with Swift on the TODAY show. Swift purposely avoided drawing attention to himself by merely stating that watching a game with her was “OK.”
