Furthermore, there were rumors that Johnson might take Will Smith’s position as Genie in Aladdin 2 due to the controversy surrounding the actor after his performance at the Oscars the previous year.

Disney reportedly wants several Genies in Aladdin 2, according to GFR. Should this be the case, the rumors that the corporation was considering Dwayne Johnson may resurface, since the actor and Will Smith could form an incredible partnership that would undoubtedly delight fans.

Regarding Will Smith’s rumored participation in the sequel, a source stated, “It would be silly not to make another since the first film was a huge success, and it would be a real shame to have to re-cast Will over what happened.” Disney is therefore eager to support him and welcome him back into the fold.
