Travis Kelce, along with his brother Jason, believes they have the best mother in the world, just like most sons do.
When her NFL-star sons faced off in Super Bowl LVII earlier this year, Donna Kelce—the first mother in history to have two sons compete in the showpiece—became something of a cult hero.
Before Travis and the Chiefs defeated Jason’s Eagles that evening, the 70-year-old garnered media attention for wearing a split jean jacket, jersey, and shoes to show her two sons in Arizona equal support.
She has been a devoted fan of both Travis and Jason’s football careers for the past 30 years; the former disclosed that she frequently attended both of their games on the same day.
And Travis praised his mother Donna for her undying dedication when she sat next to his new beau, Taylor Swift, for his recent games at Arrowhead and MetLife Stadium.
“I know mom loved it,” he said to Jason on their “New Heights” podcast following her viewing of the Chiefs’ Sunday victory over the Jets in New Jersey.
I missed the opportunity to meet her, so as soon as the game was over, I texted her “hey mum, sorry I didn’t get to catch you before I left but I hope you enjoyed the game, I appreciate you always trying to make it to both of our games.” I sent her the message on the bus trip to the airport.
She has been attending both of our sporting activities since I began playing sports when I was five years old. It’s incredible. She has been attending both of our activities in one day for about thirty years.
Along with Swift, who has ignited the internet by showing up to the Chiefs’ last two games to support Kelce, Donna spent Sunday in the pop sensation’s suite at MetLife alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
Swift went to the game with a number of her famous friends, and according to Kelce, she praised him for putting her in a “different universe” with some well-known people.
“Thank you so much, momma Kelce,” he continued. She said, “Since she was in a different universe, thank you.”
“She was sitting there, in a different world, with Hugh Jackman, Deadpool, and Wolverine.”
