Taylor Swift’s parents, Scott and Andrea Swift, have always encouraged her musical endeavors.
Taylor Swift has always had support from her parents as she pursues her “Wildest Dreams.”
The “Folklore” singer’s parents used to drive her to local events near her Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, hometown and listen to her sing karaoke long before she became a Grammy-winning celebrity and the highest-paid female musician in the world.
“When she was three, five, six, or seven years old, she was always singing music,” her father, Scott Swift, stated in UDaily, the University of Delaware newspaper. “It’s Taylor doing what she likes to do.”
Since their daughter’s birth, Scott and Andrea Swift have been her staunchest supporters, fostering her gift and enthusiasm while attempting to shield her from the demands of celebrity.
In 2008, Andrea stated to Entertainment Weekly, “There would always be an escape hatch into normal life if she decided this wasn’t something she had to pursue.” “And of course that’s like saying to her, ‘If you want to stop breathing, that’s cool.'”
On February 20, 1988, in Harris County, Texas, Andrea, a former marketing manager of an advertising agency, wed Scott, a stockbroker who had become a vice president of Merrill Lynch. Taylor was born into the family on December 13, 1989. On March 11, 1992, Austin, Taylor’s brother, was born, making her a big sister a little over two years later.
The two siblings were raised on a fifteen-acre Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania. Later, when the singer of “Teardrops On My Guitar” signed her first major record deal with Sony at the age of fourteen, they moved to the Nashville suburbs.
After taking that risk, Taylor made her stage debut as a rising country star at the Grand Ole Opry in September 2006, just a few years later. As her career took off, Andrea started traveling with her while Scott stayed at home with Austin.
Taylor’s chart-topping success by 2010 brought her to her first Grammy trophies, where she won four trophies and became the youngest artist in history to win album of the year for her 2008 release, Fearless. In her acceptance speech, she humbly dedicated the medal to her father and expressed her gratitude to them both for their support. “This is for all those times that you said I could do whatever I wanted in life,” she said. “And my mom, you’re my best friend.”
