Carrie-Anne Moss had nothing but kind words for her costar and friend Keanu Reeves in a newly penned essay for Time magazine.
The 54-year-old actress gushed about 57-year-old Keanu in the piece for the publication’s 100 Most Influential People of 2022 issue.
Among the flattering statements she called his fame ‘unique’ and said ‘he’s known for his kindness and generosity.’
In the short but meaningful literary piece she reflected on why the performer is so loved.
‘In this often unkind and shallow world, my friend Keanu gives others hope,’ she noted.
She drew a contrast between Reeves, who grew up in Canada, and his famous peers, who are often a letdown offscreen.
‘The actions of this handsome, talented, successful, and fiercely committed actor have become a reprieve from the constant disappointment we have for those who get put on a pedestal,’ she continued.
The two first worked together on The Matrix in the late 90s, with the first film premiering in March 1999.
They would go on to reprise their roles in the franchise three more times, with the most recent coming out last December.
Looking back on their first introduction, which was a screen test for the movie, she remembered: ‘Keanu was just as he always is: kind, generous, and thoughtful.’
Moss added that her friend is ‘still the man who checks in on me during an intense training day just as he did then.’
He’s joined by marketing mogul Kris Jenner, actress Mila Kunis, and comedian Pete Davidson among others.
Each honoree has a blurb written about them by a peer or colleague.
Zendaya is one of five celebrities to get her own TIME cover for this issue, with the others going to singer Mary J. Blige, 51, actor Simu Liu, 33, Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley, 56, and chief executive officer of Apple Tim Cook, 61.
