Overnight, it seemed, Rihanna moved from keeping her first pregnancy a secret to boldly flaunting her baby belly.

The 34-year-old singer, designer, and cosmetics tycoon disclosed on January 31, 2022 that she was expecting her first child with the rapper A$AP Rocky by braving the chilly weather and baring her stomach in a staged photograph. And up until she gave delivery, she continued to reinvent mom-to-be attire with the aid of her stylist Jahleel Weaver.

In the middle of March, she said to Bustle, “I’ve been personally saying, I’m not going to buy maternity clothes—I’m not gonna buy pregnant trousers, jeans, dresses, or [do] anything society advised me to do previously.

“In the past, I used to believe that was the only way to dress when a woman was pregnant. I set a challenge for myself to go further while actually just enjoying [maternity style]. An illustration would be the jammies she sloppily wore for a night out.
